There are 3 types of tyre sealants which are aerosol tire sealants, temporary tire sealant and permanent tire sealant.
Aerosol tyre sealant
Pros:
Easy DIY process. Requires no tools or jacks
Affordable
Foam will rapidly expand to inflate the tyre so that you can keep on driving
Provides you a temporary fix so that you could drive to your nearest workshop to have the tyre fix
Cons:
It is not a permanent fix, the flat tyre will still need to be replaced
Some aerosol tyre sealant are flammable
Some contain hazardous chemicals that will damage the tyres and corrodes the rim
Temporary tyre sealant
Pros:
Easy DIY process. Requires no tools or jacks
Low-cost
Provides you a temporary fix so that you could drive to your nearest workshop to have the tyre fix.
Cons:
It is not a permanent fix, the flat tyre will still need to be replaced
Pressure might build up in the tyre causing higher risk of a blow out
Some sealant will solidify causing imbalance
Some contain hazardous chemicals that will damage the tyres and corrodes the rim
Seals smaller puncture 6-8mm

Permanently seals larger puncture up to 10-12mm
